This Too Shall Pass is a rad video, but there are hidden cuts throughout, meaning while much of it was done for real, there's a touch of good ol' movie magic to stitch the whole thing together from multiple takes, which isn't surprising given how well it times up with the song.

Does this change your perception of the video in any way? My vote is no.

That could have just meant they tried a bunch of times, and took the last take that was "perfect". It's not obvious that it's not one continuous take.

They shot it over two days. They did 85 takes, most of which failed. They didn't get a single continuous take in the first day. On the second day, the second take was successful. The piece with the curtain is part of the transition from the upper to the lower floor where the steadicam operator was riding a hoist. The hoist operator couldn't see the shot and got out of sync with the machine so they inserted this shot from another take (which wasn't completed successfully). This is no secret.

if you notice the part of the video where the tv is hit by a hammer, behind there are several more broken tv's in the background. Those were probably used for "testing" when the video was being filmed

The music video is awesome, no doubt. It's not any less awesome, because it's not taken in one continious cut. Because, for one, Rube Goldberg machine this size is so complex, and there are so many little things that could go wrong, it's quite imposible to make it work from star to end. Just look how Mythbuster made their christmas eddition RGM, and the size in comperesent is childs play. Great job on masking!
