@micidragan So in the round bottom flask they have Gold Chloride ion solution in water (appearing yellowish) which contains the AuCl4- . They then injected a reducing agent which i believe to be trisodium citrate, which will reduce the gold chloride to gold metal. The citrate ions will act as a surfactant which will stabilise the gold colloid so that they will not aggregate to form large gold pieces but stay nanosize instead.
