An amazing, inspiring defection speech (video) by 8 Syrian soldiers

INSPIRING defection speech of Syrian Soldiers fighting Bashar: "victory or martyrdom" [Dec 31 2011]

They pledge the following in this video:

* Urge others to defect from Bashar's army

* Pledge to protect the honur of the people.

* Declare that they will either return honour to the people or die as martyrs.

In the name of Allah the most Gracious the most Merciful

The one sitting in the middle is Lieutenant Rafat Al 'Aageedi, the commander of this group of defectors.

I declare defection from Assad's barbaric brigades and I place myself behind the people and declare that I have joined the Free Syrian Army.

And that is due to what has occurred to my city - Deir Alzour - as well as Homs and across all the beloved Syrian districts; from persecution to killing of civilians and the destruction of homes and mosques and the exploitation of women and dignity.

I also call upon the generals and the ranks of the army, and the tribes of the Eastern districts, and I say to them: do not be a tool which the regime uses. Where is the honour and dignity? Where is the bravery of the men?! Where are you o heroes?!

Listen to the pleas of the nation and to the revolution of the nation; unite for the cause of the revolution and the journey to freedom.

Relinquish the stigma and grab hold of the stances of dignity and honour!

And in my name and in the name of every Syrian I say:

We will not accept anything but victory or martyrdom!
