Faux Accent wall.Base coat is a tan.Dry overnight. Then using an old, stiff 4" brush apply a brown wash that is 4 parts glaze and 1 part paint.Applying in darker and lighter areas randomly in a swirling motion. The result is a very textured look with depth and interest.

  • what finish did you use for the tan walls?

  • @Amber7383

    Greetings,

The finish I used was a mixture. 1 part dark brown paint with 4 parts glaze.

So its very loose and transparent. I applied the glaze mix using an old stiff brush that was fraying.

I spread it around thinly like icing a cake in different directions.

    Hope this helps,

    Terri:)

  • beautiful wall, but i wish you would have actually filmed yourself so that I can see you doing the wall.

  • Greetings! Thanks for watching and making a suggestion. I am currently working on videos that you can see step by step progress.

  • The wall looks beautiful, what did you used to blend or smudge the paint though? Also did you use primer before applying the paint and the glaze or is it not necessary?

  • Greetings, and thank you for your kind comments! Priming was not necessary. The walls were originally white. I painted them tan, you can see the tan color on the other walls. Using 4 parts glaze / 1 part paint is the trick to achieving this effect. I used an old, 4inch stiff brush, blending the look slightly with a rag. This faux effect looks the best on 1 accent wall. It's classy contemporary and can accentuate any decor. Look for new vids soon, and if you have any other questions, email me :)

  • way you talk like HAAAHA AAHHA fancy girld I love your work Bella Princhipechaaa

  • Greetings!

Thanks for checking out my work!

The trick to this finish is to use the oldest, stiffest brush you have - or I have even used an old husk broom head. Depends on the texture that you want to see.

    Any questions - just ask!

    Have fun!

    Terri:)
