@MrNativeDancer Yeah obviously they are not exactly the same, I know that trust me, but my point was they are very similar and misswoohoo1 is just a plan "pit bull" hater she is one of those people who judges a dog on appearnace rather than personality, and if she saw an amstaff walking on the street she would not know if it was an amstaff or american pit bull, to her its just a plan pit bull that she hates.

Things will get better for these dogs. So many people are trying to help them. Little by little people are seeing these dogs for what they are. Innocent. They are starting to focus on the humans who should be held accountable for not doing right by their dog.

My pit was the same, but sadly I cant keep them any more in my country as they are now banned because of retard idiots who buy them as show off trophys use and abuse them, leave them chained up in some back yard with nothing to do and make them aggressive towards people and other dogs, no wonder they got a bad name!

@lacostelover37 No they are not the same! The identity problem comes from people registering Pits as APBT. Plus you have some variation of type in both breeds. Only a very wise breeder could tell them apart, different bark and personality, true pits head is slightly narrower. The problem is the fault of the UKC allowing people to register AST and APBT as same breed. To me the difference is as clear as Husky and Shepherd. If you know what you looking at, most people dont though. hard to explain

@MissWooHoo1 Although two different breeds, the AST and the APBT are still practically identical in every way. They both have the same tender, loving personality and just want to please, and both can have high energy, now, the APBT is said to be slightly higher energy, but that is not always the case. And being as most breeders breed AST with APBT to get bigger APBT most APBT are essentially AST/APBT mixes. Therefore, you are hating the same breed, and for the wrong reason anyhow.
