www.swordguitars.com www.ronsword.com This video shows how there is shared pitch-space between the index and ring fingers of the standard harmonic minor scale, and the 9-note Superdiatonic scale of 16-tone. the standard major-ionian scale in 12-tone standard music is 2212221, the 16-tone super-ionian is 222122221.
I have added another video showing 16's diatonic on all 9 strings.
Super-diatonic fits with the harmonic minor, making it perfect for an outside sound that fits right under your hands..The great thing about 16-tone is the minor thirds are divided in 1/2 instead of the major thirds- and the Major thirds are closer to a 5/4 ratio meaning- they sound more in tune. A more in tune Major third in harmonic minor? A minor third that divides into an 11-limit whole tone (Ptolemy's Equable Diatonic)? An additional 8/7 whole tone at my disposal-three of which add to a grave fifth? Personally, I'll take the grave fifth. Everything revolving around "perfect" fifths started sounding boring anyways.

  • @Erock09291 that link i posted should work

  • sethares.engr.wisc.edu/paperspdf/Erlich-MiddlePath.pdf

  • @RSwordIAAA thanks very much man! I ordered Middle Path, and am looking forward to its arrival!

  • @JPjoeperkins123 my mentors though ,were paul erlich, ervin wilson, easley blackwood, gene ward smith and many more....

  • @JPjoeperkins123 I studied on my own, and was offered a PHD from University of California in 2010.

  • @viper1991 yes but they don't talk about moments of symmetry, myhills property or distributionall even scales. They never "name" temperaments or know anything about temperaments other than diatonic. Everything is microtonally measured on the same 5-line staff. booorrriiingggg.. If you want to learn actual music theory or how music works you need to study someone who does. Even the Partch school of JI or the JI school in general are far off.

  • @TheYoo2b my bad! it is equal tempered! It has the possibility to mimic a well tempered instrument though, with raised sevenths etc if fretted correctly.

  • @cicatriz240 Thanks.

  • @felix3840 Agile makes 9 string guitars for a relatively good price. Go to rondomusic . com and click on "electric guitars", it's gonna be at the top of the page. Agile is currently one of the only manufacturers making 9-strings commercially.
