  • is there a such thing as an alpina B5

  • Yes an E60 5-Series with same engine. This has now been superceeded by the BMW ALPINA B5 S which has the same engine but now producing 530PS.

  • that`s not a bmw alpina it`s an alpina!they`re car manufacturers,not tuners.same as ruf

  • the point is that Alpina is as bit sporty but very comfortable & individual car. Completely different from Dinan or M`s.

  • what's the point? a Dinan chipped 335i will crush this car....without the douchey looking seats and body trim.

  • Not the torque though ... Alpinas make far more torque than comparable Ms.

    Case in point: M5s have 383 lb-ft and B5s have 516 lb-ft, and lower in the rev range.

  • ye well u get better feel of the car when its a manual so i guess the M would be better becuase of the power and the torqueand on top of that u get manual transmission....i personally feel that u cant drive a car unless u can drive a stick

  • It depends on how you define "better".

    Alpinas are automatic only, while Ms are manual only. So basically the idea is getting a high performance and exclusive BMW without the discomfort of the paddle-shift models or manuals.
