After our first chacarera class on saturday at DNI with Ezequiel, we got to try out the new skills in San Telmo the day after. Here a video to show a bit of the passion and happyness of this great folklore dance of Argentina and other Andes coutries. [Shot by: Diana]

  • Hello Friends!!! This is not "Chacarera", is a "Escondido" , dance tradicional all around Argentina. The dancers are lossers, because de "escondido" is most large, but similar rithm. Performance by Nestor Garnica, track "En la ceniza una flor". Surfolk Buenos Aires. Argentina-

  • Of course the dancers are "losers" - they are people from the street on the street - in love, drunk, some without rythm, others don't know the pasos - but you know, that's why I felt quite at home there, because we all enjoyed the evening! ;-)

    Thanks for your comment! Matzumotto

  • Just a comment: Chacarera is not a Andes rithm, it is from central area of Argentina, although there are some influences related Chacarera have not conection with Andes music. And Chacarera communicate passion, ok, but not much relate to happiness... "latinamerican happiness" is a cliche.

    Manuel - Buenos Aires

  • Thanks for your response! Well, I'm not the expert here... But happy were the people dancing - that's why I mentioned it - and some even showed passion for another ;-) Chacarera is also danced in Bolivia - that's why I assumed it's spread in the Andes. Saludos desde Trondheim, Noruega

  • DESASTRE!

  • Thank you for the nice video! It reminds me of the life style of the Bulgarian immigrants (in Argentina) who settled in San Telmo between the 1880's and the 1930's.

  • Goyi13 querida no te puedo responder su mensaje. :( Besos y abrazos!

  • Viva Argentina!

Thanks for the Good Luck, and Good Luck to you too!
