For first time pilots, HobbyZone's Firebird Commander 2 makes learning to fly easier than ever.

This Firebird Commander 2 comes ready to fly (RTF) with everything that you need to teach yourself how to be a pilot, including a battery pack for the plane, batteries for the transmitter and an instructional video and manual.

Anti-Crash Technology™

With a revolutionary anti-crash technology (ACT) the Firebird Commander 2 makes learning to fly easier and safer than ever before.

Two sensors on the fuselage, one on the top and one on the bottom, monitor the position of the plane in relation to the ground.

When the plane is flying level, the top sensor sees the sky while the bottom sensor sees the ground, and they tell the onboard computer (receiver) that the plane is flying correctly.

If the plane enters a severe dive, the sensors detect the change in orientation and react to the danger.

Anti-crash technology Ready to fly (RTF)

The software in the receiver will then temporarily cut the motor, and correct the severe angle and pitch of the plane. This causes the nose to come up and pulls the plane out of the dive to help prevent the plane from crashing.

The pilot is then able to regain control. If pilots are flying correctly and do not put the plane into a severe dive situation while ACT is engaged, they will have complete control of the plane's flight pattern.

Once you have gained a higher level of confidence and experience, you can switch the ACT off. With this increased manoeuvrability, seasoned pilots can even race around pylons or engage other pilots in aerial combat.

X-Port for Xtra Fun

For extra fun and excitement, the Firebird Commander comes standard with an innovative X-Port that lets you add exciting optional plug-in accessories like the Sonic Combat Module and Aerial Drop Module and Night Flight Mode (all sold separately).

Plug in the Night Flight Module (sold separately) that offers loads of fun for experienced pilots. Remember to turn off the ACT software before you take flight at night.
Plug in the Sonic Combat Module (sold separately) and take on similarly equipped HobbyZone planes in aerial combat. When "hit" the SCM temporarily disables your motor, while allowing you to steer.
Plug in the Aerial Drop Module (sold separately)and you can drop a streamer bomb or parachute, both of which are included with the ADM

The Firebird Commander is ideal for beginners and expert pilots allowing them to select the level of control they feel is best given their flying skills.

  • @andraschke Mine unfortunately did not survive its very first cartwheel landing. Haha, ordering my new parts now.

  • I flew my Firebird Commander this morning and the winds were 10 mph or less. It did great, but this afternoon, I tried again with winds at 15 mph. The lack of elevator on the plane does not help. It did great going into the wind, but when I turned, it lost lift and came down. With the help of elevators, I could have maintained altitude. Luckily, my Firebird survived a couple of cartwheel landings.

  • How do you turn off the ACT feature for modules

  • definitely NOT A BEGINNER plane!!!, i got mine brand new from a trading forum here in Manila. I was very excited as i was told it is a beginner plane. The plane turned out to be a big disappointment. Yes, it flew, but i crashed more. Not recommended.

  • i lost the manual, it was such a long time ago.

  • look in your manual in the back is a list of replacement parts to order and you can send your plane to the manufacturer and they will fix it for you buy for a price

  • When I was about 8 I got this plane as a gift from my dad, we took it out on a beautiful summer day with no wind and it crashed. No, the crash was not due to my unexstinsive lack of knowledge in flying, it was due to the lack of work put into building this plane. The range on these planes are horrible and I don't suggest buying one. If I were going to buy a starter plane I would suggest the Super Cub LP. It is a wonderful starter plane and is a lot better flyer than the Commander.

  • i love ultralights

  • Either the batteries in the controler or the battery in the plane needs changed.

I would say change the plane battery.

  • I think you need new batteries.

Also, I have the same plane as this but my wing needs to be replaced (broken).
