Scuba diving in the red sea doing a camera comparison between the olympus u-tough 8010 and the Panasonic lumix FT-3 diving locations the blue hole Dahab and the SS Thistlegorm wreak off the coast of Sharm El Sheik plus bonus footage taken with the U-tough 8010. Panasonic Lumix FT-3 definite winner when it comes to picture qualitly and usability.

  • Did you were with both Cameras FT-3 and Tough 8010 Up to 30 Meters deep? Would be interesting because both have a garanteed depth of 10-12 meters. Thanks for the vid.

  • @cygate211 yeah took both down to 30 metres, both camera's had limited functionality at that depth, the olympus would start recording video by itself because of the pressure and was unable to turn on the camera at that depth, the way around it that I found was to turn camera on before entering the water and then I was able to take photos at a max depth of 25 metres. 15 metres all functions working ok. But no damage was done to the camera taking it to 30 metres.

  • @cygate211 the FT-3 also was able to go to 30 metres with limited use, but did no damage to the camera. Just not able to push the buttons at depth because of the pressure. I was getting decent footage at 20 metres with the FT-3. There is now a Nikon tough style camera that I would like to check out. The FT-3 was my top pick, way better picture quality and usability the olympus was disappointing for usability and photo quality, but it is super tough, I was trying to break it! and I still am!

  • just if your getting a headache I speeded up pretty much all the footage x2........
