I bought a new agitator belt, and installed it on the washer. Old belt was pretty well rotted in 2 places!

  • It looks like you had a good day that day. That was easy and thanks for documenting it for us.

  • I had a good day, but later the washer stopped draining. I thought i had it fixed. LOL! Turns out one of the hose clamps was loose causing a water leak which made the water pump belt slip. I later replaced that belt, and tightened the hose clamp. I made a video of it called Maytag Washer Catastrophes.

  • Excellent job on that easy repair Craig, I am proud of you, you saved her that stimulous check and your ready for the new year going in style! Sounds a lot smoother now! Thanks for sharing

    Peace :)

  • Yeah this mans stimulous check is going in the bank, or to pay for my new toys!

  • cool! good for another many years. Belt was easy to get at too.

  • Yeah the 1987 Dryer (Kennmore) is in great shape too. I changed its belt also 2 years ago, and the gas valve coils last year.

  • Thanks for the video...heading to the basement right now to replace my belts.

  • I have never used "Whore" as a term of indearment, but I can assure you, I will now...

  • One more hint, when you replace belts on a Maytag that has two belts, you always want to replace both of them and DO NOT adjust the pump to put more tension on the pump belt. If you do, the drive belt, which goes to the transmission will nor have the proper tension and will not spin fast enough.

  • I worked at a appliance store back in 1976 when mom and dad bought their Maytag washer and dryer. I was 16 and worked as a delivery boy. In all those years , a lid switch on the washer was replaced in 1978 and tomorrow my son and I will replace the belts on the washer for the first time. The electric dryer has never been worked on. How things have changed! Peace Out

  • You are right about the quality of machines. I'v gone through two washers in the last ten years, and now waiting until I can afford to purchase another one, after my maytag, went out.

  • Thanks Craig. I replaced my belt in less than 2 minutes. After watching your video, I knew I could talk to it properly, and it worked. I am a 64 year old female that now has a washer that isn't howling and stinking like burning rubber.

  • wow! thanks for this video, the washer at my house just broke and this really came in handy!

  • listening to you calling it a "whore" brings back memories of just about everything i've fixed in my life lol!!

  • that little washer whore! you showed that little washer slut!

  • great video bro! I like the way you do stuff. you are alot like me. I'm ready to kick this fucking cunt washer at my house. I'm an ironworker and not used to this little tight shit.
