Katie, Ray, Courtney, Jasmine, Scott and Phoebe - our 2008 Youth Ambassadors.
See India through their eyes and hear their reactions to the state of Child Labour in India. Do the Famine - fight child labour because every child has a right to a childhood, to learn, to good health, to play and to a future.

They don't want our help, the media and government make their lives seem 100x worse then it actually is...

2. Rather, they will do well to 'go back' after studying India/East, with an open mind, and apply this only tenable definition of culure, and try and restore civilization in the West. Evangelists say Conflict is inherent to their ... profession. But first and foremost, this thinking must be done away with, since world is full of it, and must be ridden of it, with a major role for youth.

Culture in the Indian/East's context is not what it is in the West: here, it is inseparable from religion which itself is a way of life. Even economics ... in fact, life itself is culture. That said, the Youth Amnassadors will be blundering if they start looking at Indian culture (which they want to respect, taking them on their word) taking Western definitions.

Child labour is widespread in India since it is cheap and more productive due to unions and strikes among adults, due to capture of the unions by Communists. The communist ideology in India is not like that of Chinese one, since the former continues to believe in the old discarded brand which said labour is supreme and capitalism is bad. The Chinese communists welcome capital including American, with great enthusiasmGovt.. Child welfare departments are corrupt and must be disbanded.

you poor thing! of course its a big deal! i donno how much 42 pence is but its not enough. if you were forced to work as a kid then you must not have seen a childhood. i hope your life has improved.

OMG everyone should do the 40 hour famine. if you for some reason cant participate then please donate. 200 million children did not go to school today. 60 million children in india are slaves in rubbish tips, sweatshops or feilds.
