Jaco Pastorius - Portrait of Tracy

My take on Portrait of Tracy by Jaco Pastorius. It is definitely not perfect, but I think I did a pretty good job. Any tips or criticism is welcome. Tell me what you think! My fingers slipped up a little at some parts, and I still can't quite get those last harmonics, either. I kinda got them on the second try. Haha. I recorded the video on my camera and recorded the audio straight from the bass plugged into the computer, and synched it. Thanks for watching!

@ 38-39 seconds, if you just move SLIGHTLY closer to the middle of the fret, you'll get that higher harmonic on the second strike. It is harder to do on an acoustic guitar. I'm surprised you got it to sound decent at all. But it sounds great, no lie. I'm DEFINITELY not one to encourage conformity [DANG, YOU GOT THE LAST HARMONIC ON THE 2ND TRY!], but I think it sounds better on electric because of the electronics. At least you brought it all together and still shut it down. Bravo, brother.

i use a presonus audio box or you could use a USB mic (a little less expensive, but you pay for what you get)

Jaco's timing and feel was not loose - it was everything but loose, haha xD

technique - A+

TONE....A++ you REALLY got a tone out of ...well....lets say it....NOT the kind of bass I'd expect that tone from.

Your timing and feel are very loose...as well as Jaco's was too....but your dragging in some spots struggling with the fingerings (who doesn't).

My tip...buy drum sticks and a practice pad....go through some drum rudiments with a good metronome.....really helps beat on other instruments.
