  • I just got back from a civilian survival course where we did this. We had to painstakingly chip at a piece of hard wood and used the chips to smoke it. If this method works then I think I would prefer it =). Also after eating that jerky I'm putting salt into my survival kit. Great vid thanks for posting.

  • This was more about setting it up to preserve the meat rather than how to actually preserve the meat itself. Not a bad video; it's just kinda commonsense for the senseless ones I guess.

  • Lucky he used natural fibre , i was going to use the fibre thats not natural to Earth and get un natura lfibre from Space, which would technically be natural for the universe .

  • wow...i've only seen a few ppl get fire with a bow drill so quickly thx for this vid

  • what kind of wood did yu use?

  • is it safe to do it without the fire and indoors? i have it hanging from my roof in the kitchen?

  • I've never gotten a fire going as fast as you did using the bow method. And I like the simplicity of your tripod. Very well done, sir!

  • IF you die on a survival trip.. do you get your money back ;) ?

  • @TheOkami1113 beause what if you are in a situation, such as, kayaking, your kayak tips over and you lose all of your equipment down stream, now all you have is a poncho, a divers knife, and your knowledge... Knowledge is the key, And from this video i have gained alot of knowledge
