Australian monk....??????

Thanks! =) my lecture notes are too brief, and online sources are too chunky. this really helped.
* some suggestion. you may include more drawings or diagrams to help visual learners. i'm not sure whether podcast allows you to do live-drawings on the screen while you are talking, but if it does, it would be a great improvement.
sorry for the bad grammar =x and i really appreciate your videos.

I finally understood recombination. Thank you so much :)

lol u said "Australian" when you mentioned Mendel for the second time at 5:56
Yup... You got me there... How embarrassing... To be honest I think I need to make a few improvements to this video... One area I think needs to be changed is the way I talk about identifying linked genes by looking at ratios... I think maybe talking about using a test/back cross would be a good idea...
What other changes would you suggest...?

No it's not necessary for their to be a dominant and recessive trait for the linked gene. Some genes have alleles that intereact differently such as co-dominant / incompletely dominant relationships. Genes with alleles of this nature can also be linked in the same way.

thanks, i don't know who you are or what exactly this is for, but I do know that my AP bio teacher sucks at teaching, and u basically summed up a lot of what my teacher couldn't. Although, i'm still confused about gene linkage and probably will always be, at least I understand a little more. so, thanks again. : )

@kierkwingen What is it you're struggling with..? I'm sure you can get it if you work at it. Can you define the term "linked genes"? Can you explain why some genes are more closely linked than others? I teach 18yr olds Bio in New Zealand - Pre university (similare level to AP bio in US).

thanks that was really helpful. have u made any other videos about other topics in level 3 bio e.g animal and plant response behaviour to the biotic and abiotic factors?

My animal and plant vids will be up in the next few weeks... Some of them are audio only and it may help if you have a copy of the L3 Pathfinder Biology book.... Watch this space...
