Recently, the New York Yankees baseball team celebrated Hope Week to recognize acts of goodwill. A young man from Sierra Leone was one of the honorees. Mohamed Kamara, the oldest of three brothers and two sisters with an absent father and a mother suddenly ill, was forced to become the "man of the house" at age 9, providing for his family by foraging for food. When Sierra Leone's civil war subsided six years ago, Mohamed made the difficult decision to join his aunt and uncle in New York. VOA's Carolyn Turner has his story.
what a inspering story, best of luck for this bright young man.
