I remember vividly the day my Mother came home with this car (1964)- same color with blue interior. . I'm restoring it now. I learned to drive in this car but it broke down a lot even when it was newer... Any tips? Would you drop a whole new engine in? and if so, what type? Great job and have fun! I can't wait to get mine on the road again.

The Triumph engine is the way to go, if it is built right it should last a long time. Keep it original, that's my opinion.

My husband bought this car from a salvage yard 6 years ago for $300. He rebuilt the engine and transmission right away, then it sat for 4 years. The paint, body work and upholstery work was all done in a matter of 2 months last spring. He did a wonderful job and I love driving that little car around everywhere.
