I Can't Explain by The Who, 1970
This is about what it is like to be young and unable to express your feelings. The guy in the song can't find a way to tell his girlfriend he loves her. The Who made their first US television appearance performing this on the ABC show Shindig. The program aired from 1964-1966 and featured many popular musicians performing their hits. The Everly Brothers, Glen Campbell, and Sonny and Cher were all frequent guests on the show.

Namaste. The album had great graphics prizes inside. I remember a poster, a line-up card, etc. When this came out we all purchased it en mass. 'Lids' (ounces) were $10. Go figure. Fun! Thanks so much. Namaste.

This song was kind of the last of a dying breed. In my mind it's basically the PERFECTION of that late-50s / early60s rock sound.

totally, personally I love Mitch Mitchell and Keith Moon from rock era most! Because they were totally beyond any other drummers, totally spontaneous, unpredictable, free but loose.....
