I believe the purpose for the small sound hole is to produce a more Focused, precise and overall brighter tone. In the old days, the lead guitar needed to cut through a whole acoustic band.

I'm new to gypsy jazz, I'm wondering why a person would choose a guitar with a small sound hole instead to one with a very large sound hole?

I think I was using a M-audio audiophile here. I now use mainly Motu stuff as it is cleaner. A lot of the sound has to do with the guitar too.

Hi Leigh, what microphone is this? I want to buy a mic to record something and i don't know what mic is good for gypsy guitar. You can give me some advices please ?

Hi there, it is just an SM 58a SHure which is a vocal mic with slightly more warmth than a SM 58. This is all I had with me, I have found that a condenser mic in combination with a large diaphram mic works better.
