@atreides73 He is using enamel thinners to remove the excess enamel paint that isn't required on the model itself. He will have painted the model with acrylic paint so the enamel thinner won't strip the acrylic paint and only remove the excess enamel. He uses the cotton stick so as not to strip the enamel paint from the lines. He makes the enamel paint thinner and easier to apply by adding a little of the enamel thinner before applying to the model lines.
@dantito to delete partition line of canopy fill it with some plaster to avoid breaking it when hanfling it, then use water sandpaper starting from 600, 800, 1000 and 1200 grain, form bigger to finer grain, then polish the canopy with Meguiar´s plast x or some other very fine rubbing compound or liquid using a fine cotton cloth, then you can submerge the canopy into FUTURE (varnish for linoleum floors) to give it a real crystal looking. And you have a nice canopy ready to be masked and painted.

@brolyss4
He sprayed in a layer of clear coat or future floor polish to preserve the decals and prevent them from being damaged from handling.
