Our trip continues southward towards Tecolutla, after staying overnight at Tampico Alto. Instead of flat farmland the environment becomes more hilly and the hills become larger and more numerous. Further south there's a dramatic increase in trees and shrubs, while cleared hills in all directions are covered in orange groves. In fact, there's a town Naranges (spanish for "orange") on this route, and Guiterrez Zamora holds an Orange Festival in June. Over the years we've eaten plenty of locally grown oranges. They are maravilloso! Finally, 1500 miles after we left our hometown in search of baby sea turtles during Kemp's ridley nesting season, we arrive at our destination: Tecolutla, Veracruz, MX; in search of the man, Sr Fernando Manzano Cervantes, and his organization, VIDA MILENARIA: protectors and liberators of Tortuga Lora, the most endangered sea turtle in the world.
