The first day in DC started off riding the metro into the city to the Smithsonian Station. Realizing the Smithsonian does not open until 10AM, we decided to get in line for tickets for the Washington Monument for late in the day.

The Smithsonian Institute of American History is a huge undertaking that is a complete day itself. I only got about 3 hours to see what I could. The recently restored Star Spangled Banner is now on display again. Along with this, the exhibits cover the evolution of American society in a variety of ways ranging from slavery, civil rights, war, the automobile and others. The Smithsonian Institute of American History truly is "America's Attic" as many have called it.

This video would not post with some of the sound. Apologies for any sudden muted spots in the vlog.
