@Teufelsknecht Im not disputing that he was a genius but only after the war ended and he went 2 America were these accolades heaped on him. I dont think the citizens of London were sharing these sentiments and thinkin wot a gr8 man he was when V1 and V2 rockets were falling down on them.

yeah i know it was not a space run of usa and russia it was a space run from german scientist...say wat you want Wernher von Braun was a genius and he has give the world the space he is a legend wat a great man

At sixteen Wernher von Braun was already sketching detailed designs for rocketships. By eighteen he was a member of German Society for Space Travel. After his surrender to the U.S. and resettlement here he worked to promote space exploration. The characterization of Wernher von Braun as driven to find "ever more deadly weapons" is inconsistent with those and other facts. Likely, just as scientists on both sides during the war, he was recruited to serve the war aims of political leaders.

if it wasnt 4 the cold war and the space race wernher von braun wouldve been hang 4 war crimes!!he was a member of the nazi party an ss officer and knowingly employed slave labor 4 his v1 and v2 rockets. he singlehandedly helped 2 prolong the war.

@LayTheGroundWork Well I really doubt the accuracy of what you write here, so please furnish some citations. That said, it is true the Nazi German developed Sarin and Tabun two very deadly nerve gasses and didn't use them in combat once. Even at the darkest hour. The allies didn't have them yet either.

American scientists did not originate the atomic bomb technology. German scientists developed the technology and tested the effects in January of 1945. Hitler decided that the weapon would tarnish his legacy so the project was abandoned. When Americans fell upon Germany they discovered the technological facilities and gave the German scientists lucrative contracts to build the atom bombs which the USA dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Hitler never would have dropped atom bombs on human beings.

One thing, and one only : when the first living mamal escaped this planet it has been the very first living stuff who did so since live has started here. Any religious creepy seers or crazy gods inventors never brought anything actual but cheap words.. If mankind had reached grownup age , I think we should have settled a new calendar starting from the year of first man in outer space !
