In this vid, i show you how to use washes. I prefer putting the wash on in thin layers, as to avoid "glooping" and "Drought marks". Part two will explain the technique behind actual washes of paint(rather than pre-made washes).

Hope you Enjoy!

  • Why is there green underneath the cape?

  • The model had previously been painted. I wanted to get this video up quick, so instead of stripping the model, i just painted over quickly. This video is more about the technique rather than the model.

    Good eye though! :)

  • I don't mind a bit of jazz but focus would be good, I'll take all help I can thanxs for the upload:)

  • @ObsidianPainting Personally, I dig the Jazz... although maybe a smoother track so I'm mellowly focusing on the painting, not the improvisational riffs :P

  • Great videos love the tutorials there very helpful and subscribed to keep updated =] But can you leave the blurb boxes or text boxes on screen longer? I seem to have to pause to read them and i'm a quick reader. Anyway thanks for the tutorials and keep up the good work.

  • @slugg087 This is great music guy...get with it.

  • Nice music choice, I believe that is Miles Davis. It's nice that you actually picked good music for this tutorial.

  • @ObsidianPainting

The music is great and fits the tutorial. Thank you for not attaching that horrible emo crap that everybody else does.

  • @ObsidianPainting that ditch digger doesn't know real music. Appreciate the tutorial, I do way better at everything if i see how its done lol

  • @slugg087

To each their own i suppose. I'm going to be redoing all these at some point. So hopefully you'll watch those :)

  • What do washes do to it?

  • Sigh, I need to get into this. It looks like a really fun hobby.
