Phillip Emmons Isaac Bonewits is an influential Neopagan leader and author.

He is a liturgist, speaker, journalist, Neo-druid priest, and a singer, songwriter, and independent recording artist.

Born in Royal Oak, Michigan, Bonewits has been heavily involved in occultism since the 1960s.

Bonewits has coined much of the modern terminology used to define and articulate many of the conceptual themes and issues which affect the North American Neopagan community.

Isaac is the Archdruid of Ar nDraiocht Fein (ADF), the largest new age Druidic group in the world.

The ADF motto "Why not excellence?" sets it apart from much of the pagan community.

* Pioneered the modern usage of the terms thealogy, "Paleo-Paganism", "Meso-Paganism", and numerous other retronyms.

* Possibly coined the term "Pagan Reconstructionism", though the communities in question would later diverge from his initial meaning.

* Founded Ar nDraiocht Fein, which was incorporated in 1990 in the state of Delaware as a U.S. 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

* Developed the Advanced Bonewits Cult Danger Evaluation Frame or ABCDEF

* Coined the phrase "Never Again the Burning."

* Critiqued the Burning Times / Old Religion Murray thesis (in Bonewits's Essential Guide to Witchcraft and Wicca)

  • Was Selena Fox singing ?

  • where was this ceremony performed?

  • @NinjaCthulhu But Jewish practises from the same era ALSO demanded animal sacrifices - read the old testament of the bible - animals are being sacrificed left, right and centre... Traditional British Wicca IS influenced by western ceremonial magic and European ideas but really has little to do with Native American or Hindu beliefs. This syncretism is a later American practise...

  • Wow, Wicca really is a belief that rips off other beliefs, whether it be Native American ideas or Hinduism. I doubt anyone would practice paganism in its truest form (example: most pagan beliefs required animal sacrifises, look at the Greeks and Romans).

  • When was this made??? Seems like some time ago... 80's maybe?? Lovely video.. Gods Bless... Blessed be... :) Rest in Peace and Walk on Isaac you did great work and may it continue as your Spirit continues... :)

    Blessed be...

  • RIP Isaac. Gods bless your soul! ;,)

  • A follower of Yellow Magic here laments the death of Isaac Bonewits.

    He will be missed.
