When you said: someone may ask "Father,am I really a Christian?"-- Okay, I can hear the criticism coming. May I pre-empt any of that potential misunderstanding? Pastor Fisk was referring to the Heavenly Father when he said that, not himself (in case you ppl did not see Pastor Fisk look UPward to GOD). We do not call our pastors Father, just Pastor. BTW,Pastor Fisk, you articulate so well. I admit, although I know alot of this ChristianLutheran stuff,I could not express it as well as you do!Thanx!
@Revfiskj Hope you get the other comments I put on for you! (Not just this one, there's 3 others)and there will probably be more, sometime later!! I'm loving your words. They are lifting my spirit. The Holy Spirit that is in me is saying Yes, Yes, AMEN!!! I love learning and even re-learning this awesome Bible that God gave us. I love Jesus so much and your words are ringing so true, as a believer in Christ I say this. I'll be watching and listening! Thanks, Alexa.
@Revfiskj You are so young. Are you a pastor? Sorry that I said YOU'LL MAKE a great one (Awesome one). I didn't think you were old enough to be through Seminary. It's cool, though, since you should take that as a big compliment! I am always told that I look younger than I am:-) too! Anyway,You ARE a wonderful pastor,I will say.God Bless.Keep it up--proud of you for working through YouTube to serve our Lord! And your point is well taken---YES,babies were baptized by the early Christian Church! ww10
You are going to be an AWESOME Pastor!! You need to witness to the Joel Olsteen&Rick Warren-types who-----with their coffee and doughnut, kick back in the chaise-lounge chairs, large72 in. screen monitors in4 places, and hopped-up rock bands-----are teaching their health and wealth "gospels". But where's the true word of God there? +Great point about the Calvinists who DO NOT UNDERSTAND that GOD can/does work through the means of grace,e.g.,water.It's so Biblical, BUT Calvinists just don't get it!
From what you've said here,I could not agree more! Luther had it so right!! But then Calvin came along and messed it up quite abit. We've been studying Galatians lately--cool! I have been to so many (MANY) different churches and none preach the Gospel the way the Lutherans do--wholeheartedly and completely!!My Baptist and Calvinistic friends are getting into theMissouri Synod Lutheran Church that I go to + they see/hear what the GOSPEL TRULY IS and how it's not watered down as theirs always was!
@SporloMBSSB Of course it isn't preaching in itself, but is an issue of large scale censorship and losses of freedom of speech online. Like I mentioned, whether it's blogs or youtube or whatever, these forms of media can be useful to us as Christians, I mean, we're watching Christian videos right now. Have you seen how the RIAA and MPAA operate? 'Apocalyptic rhetoric' is most definitely warranted, these are corporations that, as the saying goes, "would slit their mothers throat for a nickel."
@gomerzillmer Apocalyptic rhetoric doesn't do anyone any good. It doesn't work in theology, and it doesn't work in politics. The unwarranted panic caused by advocates of piracy are making a mess of things. I'm glad the bills have been shelved though.
I also don't see how SOPA has ANYTHING to do with preaching the Gospel or highlighting false teaching.

@jagfoot You may want to see an earlier video by Rev Fisk titled X Marks the Discipled. It may answer at least the first question.
