It can be said that Shatner's egomaniacal behavior really impacted Takei during a script issue on one of the previous films. Sulu (Takei's character) was put into a precarious position, and for whatever reason, Takei didn't want to do the film. Shatner tried to bully him into doing it by calling him "Georgey" and was really condescending to Takei apparently, who had no control over the script or his character's development.
Maybe the whole thing was sexual tension? Sulu was jealous of the Yeoman, lol.
I wonder though, if when Takei was excited about getting his own star ship if he was lead to believe that he would also be getting his own movies or his own series out of the deal? I mean, there was talk about Excelsior being the most recent show instead of Enterprise, maybe he thought that was a done deal. That would disappoint anybody when it didn't happen.

LEONARD NIMOY FTW.
Shatner, have *you* watched that movie?
