Gary William Friedman wrote over 40 songs as the Music Director and Composer for CTW's Television show "The Electric Company".
Hands down, his most popular song was the Spider Man theme. In addition to writing it, he was the vocalist on the recordings (under the pseudonym Will Power).
The song was groovy and the skits were zany. Morgan Freeman and a host of others played foil to Danny Seagren's mute Spidey (or was it the other way around??)
Our hope is that this great theme song - any version or cover of it, will make it into the upcoming Spider-Man movie. Millions grew up with it, and it deserves to be in the pantheon of tunes included in the Spider-Man movie series.
Until now, fans have mostly heard the version used on the TV show. But this full-blown, wacky dance version was also produced and recorded in the 70's.

They should have used this song in Spiderman 3 and made the club that Mary Jane sang in a retro-disco joint. That would have made the movie a lot better.
