Weir on why he doesn't need to be 'out'

You do realize, Rickone, that there is a vast difference between a serial killer and a gay person?

And, seriously, he does have a valid point. Why is it so important for Johnny to say, "I prefer men." or "I prefer women."? It has zero bearing on his abilities as a figure skater. the fact is, whomever he has sex with really isn't anyone's business at all excepting the who he prefers to do.

Ironically enough he is always blasting people and calls it been outspoken. Certainly he has blasted and expressed his dislike for Evan Lysacek, but, does he know Evan as Evan or Evan the skater?

This is why Johnny is a hero to me right now because he has rejected being brow beat by West Coast gay patricians and East Coast soldier queers who have the idea in their pretty little heads that they speak for all of gay America - they do not. Represent gay America - they do not. Have gay America's best interest at heart and lead and direct gay America - they do not. Nobody elected them yet they presume to tell us how we're "supposed" to think and act and what our values are.

I understand that his sexuality shouldn't matter to people. But I don't agree with what he said 100%. It's the whole what you are vs. who you are thing. I think that what you are makes up who you are.
