Adam (age 10) created a marble sorter from a Basic Stamp microcontroller and some K'nex gears...

ya dude thats awesome, im 13 and messin with arduino and parallax microcontrollers. you should try to add a lcd to tell wether its metal or plastic.

using a basic stamp for this? you can just use some capacitors and a spring for this crap. aside the materials, cool invention

If he did the chip, That's just amazing to learn coding at that age. Im 16 and already coding character LCD's and stuff with a AVR instead of a PIC

Pretty cool, but where did you get the servos without spending a fortune, I mean I have servos in Nitro RC car, but you aren't going to se me rip them out.

I think he ordered the servo directly from the Parallax website - around $10.

Yep. Including the Basic STAMP code.
