The Armed Forces Memorial (AFM), dedicated in the presence of Her Majesty the Queen on 12 October 2007, is a nationally significant focus for remembrance, providing recognition and thanks for those who have given their lives in the service of the country since the two World Wars.

Ahh...that must have been very emotional for your father then.
I'm very glad we have such a memorial now to show our appreciation to the Polish armed forces of WW2..

What did you think of Polish memorial there?
I know many Polish fought bravely in Battle of Britain, Tobruk, Monte Cassino..but I didn'r know it was such a huge number (something like 500,000I read)...
