This is a cool game, despite the fact that it's pretty much a clear Street Fighter ripoff, and if I remember correctly, this was almost not even published because of that.

Yeah, that is strue that this game is a Street fighter 2 ripoff. Capcom sued Data east to rip some things from Street fighter 2. & in 2003, Data east went bankruptcy.
