I really love this song, but I really dislike the woman who sings Lily's part. Her voice is way too harsh for this... It's supposed to be sad and nostalgic; I adore when Snape's part comes because it just sounds so thoughtful and honest. The words and music are so beautiful and poignant, and she's just there like 'HEY listen to how loudly I can belt these notes!!'. No. Just no. In my opinion, she ruins the song by overpowering it.

I love this song and I think the vocals suit it just fine considering it's was written for a play. They're both fantastic singers. I like hearing people belt out tunes though. Maybe that's because I wish I could sing like that. lol I have to say I really like how you added Lily and Snape saying 'Always' at the end of the video. I forgot Lily said that in the movie until it showed up on here. Nicely done!

@butterbeerwrocks Well hello there. :) The theatrical version is better in some ways and worse in others. Yes, the voices do mesh together better than this version. My main complaint about this one is that the mood of the song is disrupted because the two singers seem to be at cross purposes... One voice is loud and harsh, while the other is very calm and sedate. However, ironically in contrast to the theatrical version, this recording captures more emotion behind the words.

Sorry you think my voice overpowers, but I did write the song to suit my voice, and I cried every time I tried to record so I ended up doing a million takes. I'm a classically trained singer, but decided that the belting was better for the song. You can watch the theatrical version by searching The Final Battle Act 2 part 1 on Youtube. Maybe you'll like that Lily's voice better :)
