This is the best of the best for laundry! The LG WT5101H Wave Force ultra large capacity 5.2 (or 4.5?) cu ft top loading washing machine and matching DLGX5102V True Steam gas drier (DLEX5101V is matching gray electric dry). A beautiful graphite steel grey with stainless accents but is available in white. It has no large center agitator so can wash large bulky items. The wave series has high efficiency and a 10 year warranty. It has TrueBalance auto load balancing where it will not go nuts with an unbalanced load. The direct drive motor with no belts or transmission gears to wear out for reliability and helps keep the noise very low. I managed to get the Frys salesman to search the internet for lowest price for match and negotiated free delivery and setup.

  • . My current worldpool dryer died and I am looking for something that's new and will last. I have 2 teen kids and this looks great and the reviews look good as well. I have to much laundry!! I did see 1 video of a guy washing a comforter and the mounts coming off. U being an owner of this washer.. Do u think it was user error for that to happen? I'm thinking maybe he didn't read the book. Also does it wash small loads just as good as large loads? Another review said the sensor wont pick up smal

  • @lsukitten It may not be that hard to fix your old dryer.

I did a load that had a heavy rugs mixed with light stuff that was very unbalanced. When it started to shake the washer stopped and flashed "User". I re-distributed load and finished OK. So I know there is a vibration sensor that stops spin if shaking.

I have not had any issue with water level sensor. Small loads worked for me. Even empty will work.

You may be able to get a "factory reconditioned" washer for cheap if you look hard.

  • Sear's delivered my Lg Waveforce Washer & Gas Dryer this morning , and I've been doing laundry ever since (LOL) I'm very pleased with my purchase. I also purchase a 5 year Warranty for both the Washer and Dryer

  • Got the LG washer/dryer combo as well (though my dryer is electric)...Have had the pair for about 2 months, and so far they're doing a great job...What I like about this washer in particular is the "True Balance" system; living in an upper condo my old standard top load washer would move outta place, and needed to be re-balanced every few days (talk about a pain)...No more dancing washer!

  • i recomend before purchase it...READ WARRANTY 1 year warranty parts and labor, 2 years control panel only parts, 7-10 years according to some model in motor and lifetime stainless steal drum....dont call after 5 years saying that nobody told you that.recomendation..buy an extended warranty. they are not designed to wash big conforter because will send you an error, use affresh to clean it. and please please use HE detergent....dont call at 1-800243-000 for stupid questions...read the manual.

  • It is a pretty set but I do not think it washes clothes very well, but it looks very impressive.

  • When it spins with the water in it, it is not actually adding new water. It is taking the existing water in the drum and throwing it to the outside of the drums and then directs back in through the laundry. This is the "wave force" action, hence the name. It actually moves the water through the clothes, rather than the clothes through the water. This is what makes it wash so well.

  • that 10 year warrenty might be to do with the indestructable quiet direct drive motor. though LG's tend to come with a 2 year warrenty. also chooseing gas insted of electric is allways better - gas saves you money and is extreemly quick at drying loads.

  • @KentDoub Whaa? (: Reverse-tumble is when the washer or dryer reverses it's tumbling direction periodotically. That feature prevents knotting/balling--up of the laundrysomewhat, and helps wash or dry better and faster.

  • @JSneaker My wife was that way about the "Steam" feature. I doubt it will ever get used. There are at least 10 different marketing terms applied to the washer and dryer. What is "Reverse Tumble"?
