Pastor Gary Held, Pastor of Risen Savior Lutheran Church and cohost of Radical Grace Radio... This isn't rocket science. How someone could read the Bible and not come away understanding how you're saved is beyond me, but more importantly, how could someone make this statement?

"If I do wrong by teaching Good Works as a Christian Virtue, and you are correct that by Grace, God Alone chooses to Save me or Not, regardless and independent of my works, then why should you care? For it will not matter, it Cannot Matter.

If my works (Good or Bad) DO MATTER concerning my Salvation, then your stand on Grace Alone must be in error."

Yikes!

  • You don't understand the point, it's not making faith alive or dead etc. You need both at the same time. Martin's issue is that he tried to work his way to heaven, he felt he was not good enough all the time. That's not the point, the point is to do what God asks of you to the best of your ability. Abraham didn't get judged on if he believed God was there, he was judged and given gifts from God when he was gonna LISTEN to God and kill his son for him.Do works out of LOVE, not to get to heaven

  • Faith alone contradicts the Bible in muiltiple places... Except that one part in the Protestant Bible that Martin Luther CHANGED, you know it doesn't contradict that part. It also doesn't contradict it in any of the 7 books of the old testament that Martin Luther torn out of the original Bible for some random reason... =P

  • @waltherchemnitz I will repeat: It is NOT QUANTITY BUT QUALITY We all have IMPERFECT Faith We all have IMPERFECT wroks That´s why GRACE, because of Jesus Christ, can make faith and works perfect for God If you die imperfect and as you said "no other option but perfection", then, as 1Cor 3:12-13 says,, you will go trou fire, what we Christians call purgatory So, Do you understand NOT quantity but quality? Did you read 1Cor 13,,, I quoted before?? Read it again Blesses
  • @mjmenjivar How many? If you want to obey Jesus, he doesn't give you any other option but perfection. "be ye therefore perfect, as your Father in heaven is perfect". You assume that others aren't doing what your doing, which is already a strike against you. The guy who this video is responding to did the same thing, made stupid assumptions.

  • @waltherchemnitz Then you have not heard the law. I fear for your soul.

  • @StringPlunker

It is working out very well. How is bearing fruit working out for you?

  • @waltherchemnitz

    You didnt read ..

    God bless you,,

Obey the Scriptures my friend, obey Jesus,,, Love your neighbor,, clothed the naked, visit the sick,,, be a christian my friend..

God bless you in this journey

  • @mjmenjivar How many good works does it take to make a dead faith live?

  • @StringPlunker How's that working out for you?

  • @waltherchemnitz

    Not quantity but Quality

    1st Cor 13

"I have ALL THE FAITH necessary to move mountains, if I am without love, I am nothing"

"Though I should GIVE away TO THE POOR ALL that I possess, and even give up my body to be burned, if I am without love, it will do me no good whatever"

    (Paul writtings)

Whatever you do, do it because you LOVE God and your neighbors. If you have FAITH in God, have it because you LOVE HIM, thats what is important. Obey Jesus loving your neighbor

    Blesses
