@xEtherealityx Transitions in avant garde metal tend to be as abrupt, jarring and abrasive as possible. This is usually deliberate. Sometimes it works, and other times...eh. I think it works great in this song. There is a song by Rad a Trest called Analza Zahnedy that employs this style to an incredibly disturbing effect. I recommend listening to it  for the experience

As far as lyrical content is concerned, it was written as a lampoon of American pop music. Many popular bands are referenced.

@L14xdxd09 also estrasphere, diablo swing orchestra, tub ring, stolen babies, naked city, gang gang dance, dan deacon, giraffes? giraffes!, henry cow, joanna newsom(the instruments aren't really, and it sounds poppy, but the unique vocals puts it in that class for me) anything by JG thirlwell, sleepy time gorilla museum, otto von schirach(avant-garde techno!) panda bear, shaolin death squad, sikth, akphaezya, these 2 aren't avant-garde but are VERY diverse....absynthe minded and jackson jackson!
