  • Nice videos! They are all so informative.

Question: I would like to plug a lapel mic (receiver) into the recorder and use the mic on the recorder for ambient sound. I want to be sure they are recorded on different channels so I can adjust the volume independently. Which unit would you recommend for this scenario?

  • @HollywoodEyeMan You would need a multitrack recorder for that I think, so maybe look at the Zoom H4n or the new Olympus LS-100.

  • @HollywoodEyeMan As for different channels, I am not sure, other than adding an audio interface to the unit.

  • What is the battery life like?

  • @dashwood123 Extremely good.

  • Good video. very informative about the LS'5

  • @jerrylefever Thanks.

  • is it me or does it looks like Mickey Mouse ?

  • @mycamguy Answer from Olympus… The colour, memory capacity and what is included in the box – please check the website for differences between the LS-5 and LS-11, the LS-10 has now been discontinued.

We are not planning on releasing any new external microphones in the immediate future, however we already have a range available including our gun microphone, noise cancelling microphone, stereo mic and zoom mics. Olympus are continually developing the LS range.

  • what does it mean that the canon t3 has mono 48khz linear pcm audio? is that good?

  • I would like to ask you if this recorder has the "timer rec" function, so it will start to register at the time and date that you have setted.

  • @djconnormoore No, you can just adjust the gain down.
