What a wonderful movie, and an equally wonderful soundtrack! I hope you enjoy it as much as I have!

  • One more, please ... While I haven't listened to ALL of your Newman musical postings yet, I must say thanks once again for being meticulous and for carefully posting the content you've shared WITHOUT carelessly "clipping" any beginnings and ends from what I've heard thus far. Thank you, Cherokee!

  • One more comment, please ... As I described this to my wife, I urged her to NOT listen through her laptop speakers, of course. The first word coming to mind is almost cliché, but it's the simple truth: This climactic piece simply tingles one's spine! Thank you again as your collection of Newman's music has opened my eyes to many of his other great works. While I don't have sufficient funds to immediately purchase all of Newman's stupendous music, I've decided to immediately begin.

  • Thank you so kindly, Cherokee, for this posted audio. I'm rather fond of Alfred Newman's works. Coincidentally, I saw The Hunchback of Notre Dame just last night and it wasn't the first time I had noticed the ending musical climax is virtually the same as the close for The Song of Bernadette; I have both on DVD, of course, as they're both great favorites. However, I was not aware of this segment from The Robe, which I don't recall ever seeing. I shall have to look into this further. Thank you!

  • It was also reused in "The Song of Bernadette" too

  • Beautiful and evocative. Is the "Hunchback" score around?

  • The "Alleluia" choral section here is a variation of Newman's "Alleluia" choral section from his earlier score for RKO's THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME (1939).
