Ella recorded this nursery rhyme on May 2nd, 1938 with Chick Webb during the big band swing era. By June 25th it reached #1. Not the first nursery rhyme adapted to jazz music, but the first hit for one of the most legendary prolific singers ever.

Just a few days after her 20th birthday Ella recorded this song. The singer you see here had just turned 10 years old when she recorded it at a friends house. The girls then added video to it a couple years later.
