These puppies are big! For fist crack and offwidth aficionados, Big Bros rule. The expanding tube chock design is stable, lightweight, easy to use and strong. Because of their stable nature when they're placed correctly they're almost impossible to dislodge when you're grunting by them, and they make a nice smooth rope guide at the lip of a roof. Their expansion range is phenomenal—a #5 Big Bro has greater range than an entire set of traditional cams! Another piece of Extraordinary Rock Climbing Gear by Trango. This video has been reformatted for better performance on YouTube.

  • Big Bro 's watching ;-)

  • Without trying one of these I can't say unequivocally that they aren't as good as cams. But I would like to see a demonstration of one of these being place with on arm whilst hanging upside down in cold conditions.

  • @peacehippi This is YouTube. A majority of people are imbeciles by definition.

  • A majority of you people are imbeciles. It isn't the spring that is holding the bro in place. These truly are as bomber as they come. It won't be long till natural selection kills you on an offwidth

  • big bros are great, i have been using them for years at vedawoo, desert, eldo, yosemite and devils tower,

a note to kezz 1050, wake up u idiot. i am assuming u have never done much offwidth climbing, especially in the 10 inch and bigger range... i guess u would rather clip the old button heads on the steck salathe than use a bomber #4 big bro. and the small one is way easier to carry than a #4 camalot when cragging.

    anyway, big bros rock!!!!

  • @kezz1050 so...what do YOU use in those off-widths too large for a cam?

  • @kezz1050 Big Bros are much lighter than cams, and are better for off-width climbing

  • to be honest.its a metal toilet role...prob works really well and is really trust worthy, but i havent and cant see myself using one, so altough i technically do not have the right to say anything about the product, i am a climber and would say that if a mate of mine utilised that in a crack, id slap him and look for te bottle of whiskey he must have been drinking cos i cant see how any climber would want to use this over a cam etc.

  • i dont like the look of these at all! never going buy one! never going use them

  • I'd be worried about that the rope could twist the ring accidentaly.
