i am so sad and i was at confessions on christmas eve . and when i was in the q 2 go in i was looking and thinking how beutiful it looked!and i had served on christmas eve mass and it was such a happy mass. and we all were coming out so happy after it. and definitly not expecting to be there looking at it burning the next day. and i think im saying this for every one in longford this is the sadest day in our lives. =(=(=(=(=(=(=(=(=(=(=(=(=(

It's such a weird feeling to have been to Christmas Eve Mass there and then.....nothing. Gutted. Drove past it yesterday too, very strange to see the windows all blown out, it's very sad, it was a beautiful building.

I was there just a few hours earlier for confessions, and as i waited in the queue i was looking around, thinking about how magnificent the cathedral looked. Now, it's all gone.

same thing happened in tullamore on halloween night 1983. thankfully the church was rebuilt.
