1998 lincoln continental needs inner tie rod end is it similar to this
-
@SearcySW but 99% of the time only the band part of the clamp is stainless, other parts are plain steel
-
@mageac I used a hose clamp because that what I had. It will never rust as it's stainless steel. I would have used a zip tie if I had one though.

Thanks guys. I thought I had to replace my rack until I saw this. All I needed was the inner tie rod. Done in an hour. That flange washer is tricky.

wow awesome video, now im pretty positive i can do it on my car! i have to replace inner and outer on both sides on a 03 gti!
thanks!

@BlazerLT its going to happen, a hose clamp will rust out in about a year around here, a zip tie will last pretty much forever.
hell ive seen zip ties used to hold wiring and air line harnesses together on tractor trailers that were 10 + years old
even brand new ones use zip ties in places
-
@mageac not going to happen.
-
@BlazerLT the zip tie would probably outlast a hose clamp...
-
Thanks, that was a lot of help.

Just ordered sway links for all 4 wheels, and inner and outer tie rods for both fronts for my 2001 mitsubuyshy jellant. (mitsubishi galant). The front driver side inner tie rod is a bit loose. Will there be any noticeable improvement in my ride quality? I should replace struts too if I want a better ride? But then I need coil springs too right, not good to keep the old springs? I got the front sway links for 30 and the rears for 20! I got both inner and outer tie rods for 36 bucks! nice?!

@ArcolaBridge if the old ones are worn out then yes you should notice ride improvement but more in the area of steering... be sure to get a proper alignment after replacing any suspension pieces like this. Struts if they are worn out replacing them will help the ride. you'll want to keep the stock springs if your getting stock struts. Aftermarket parts will stiffen things up and springs will lower and stiffen things too but ride quality won't typically be as good
