it uses int 10h (ah = 11h). This interrupt changes the ASCII character set.

I love this game, but it eventually becomes too luck-based. Gasoline cans in the wrong place, that one explosion being too big, guards trying to stop you, and sometimes a gas can explodes because it felt like it; any of them can result in an unavoidable death.

Well, that's the thing. ASCII is a character set. But if you modify the character set is it still ASCII?
I've done some research and, no ASCII is a specific set of 95 characters, so you are correct in saying this game is ANSI, but now we're splitting hairs.

I love this game! Tho I played Pyro][ (2), which as I remember was much harder.

Interesting. I was going to refute you and call you a flaming idiot (apropos considering the game), but then I thought, it uses a modified ASCII character set, so is it still ASCII?
Either way, it's a text based game. You should download it and try it before you pass judgment based on a YouTube video, you flaming idiot.
