Near was born in August '91.

Mello was born in December '89.

L died in November '04.

Using math, that means Near was 13 and Mello was 14 when L died.

Light died in January '10.

Using math, that means Near was 18 and Mello--if he was still alive--20 when Light died.

Seems that you are in denial and oblivious or just really bad at math.
