First time I heard this I was driving my car. When the punchline hit, I shocked myself by bursting into tears. If that doesn't prove the power of art, and of Don, I don't know what does....

Don's huge body of work, from the Blams through The Front Lawn and The Muttonbirds, to his "solo" stuff and the Seven Sisters work, shows the depth of his talent. Neil and Tim Finn and Dave Dobbyn are all excellent at catchy (but intelligent) songs, but save for a handful from each of them over their careers, no-one's lyrics and diversity of musical genre have touched so many of my emotions as Don's (not counting the Tim/Phil Judd days of Split Enz). Among excellence this one stands out.
