Amtrak California Zephyr Ride, 10/12/08 Part 2.

Fall break is over and now I ride Westbound California Zephyr 5 back to Galesburg depot where I will have a friend lift me back to Monmouth College. Part 2 of this trip covers the BNSF Mendota Subdivision from Aurora, IL. to Galesburg, IL.

I sit in the lower level of the Sightseer Lounge during most of this trip with an occasional visit to the coach and upper level of the Sightseer.

Nice Video! Chicago to Galesburg is a nice ride. I liked tha part where the train passed through my home town, Kewanee. I have photographed this train many times. Will have to check out your other vids.

Well, it may appear quiet but the California Zephyr is one of Amtrak's popular routes. This one and Amtrak's Empire Builder route. They are very busy and packed.
