loved this song in his "where the light is" concert, so thought I'd give it a shot. Tabs available at http://www3.sympatico.ca/g403z/.

  • Hey what strings did you use for it to not break when you tune up the A and D string? My D string always breaks after 3-4 plays of the song. =(

  • I've experimented with different types of strings, but I currently use Martin Acoustic SP Lights. They'll break eventually when I tune it up, but it'll last me for few months.

  • @t4k45h1 hey i broke my strings last week tuning up the guitar...bought new ones but im afraid to tune it up..they are .11 (electric) strings...what would you recommend? do i tune it up or will they break again?

  • @danielnegrotorres

I honestly don't know too much about electric strings. I use Martin Acoustic SP Lights on my acoustic guitar and they'll tune up fine for a few months, but will eventually break.

  • great! what martin guitar is that?

  • this one's a D16R.

  • i think asians love John mayer a lot

  • @7hotfuzz7 Mayer uses his own called an OMJM

  • Killed it!! That was nasty

  • nice singing on the interlude man :D my favourite bit

  • @0khaiser0 might be useless to post a reply now but someone else might find it useful.

If you were to tune your guitar a whole step down from the intended tuning and use a capo on the second fret then the strings wont be under as much strain as if you were to tune it without the use of a capo

  • Tabs for @2:02 - @2:25

  • you made that song your bitch. nice cover

  • @RDMNC

The Tuning is: Low E stays the same, A is tuned higher up to B, D is tuned up to E, G Is tuned down to F#, B is the same and so is the high E.

    You end up with E, B, E, F#, B, E

  • How do you tune for that song??

  • @viniciuswonderboy noooooo he uses an martin om42 or d41. at least that's what i've seen him play
