Just an idea I had yesterday that fitted perfectly with a sample I'd harvested some time back. Nice how these things come together. This just my initial sketch of it (I've refined it a little since but, hey, it takes so long to render these things you'll have to see me live for a proper performance) but shows the shape and form it should eventually take.
The start of it uses the Eventide Pitchfactor in its old-style harmonizer mode, excellent - reminds me of Force Majeure maybe. Some of the other odd noises come from the Proteus 2500 which won't be there on a live version (I don't gig that synth purely because of its size).
Finally, the video cocked up a bit (I know: more excuses) when my "keyboard cam" mysteriously shut itself off. So I used the back camera mostly and spliced a few other bits after the fact - yes it's all strangely out of sync, I left the Two Voice sequencer going longer than I should have etc. etc. Hope you enjoy it anyway. :)

  • You're very kind, thanks lots

  • The track's about dementia BTW, I used to work in an old folks' care home...

(apologies about the repetition soarornor, was done live and you never quite control everything perfectly. At least you'll forget about all of this in the morning...) :)

  • The Pitchfactor is a harmonizer effect - and you're right, it did feature rather beautifully on Force Majeure (love that album).

  • Beautiful stuff. Entirely magical. The only thing that got tiring was the looped vocal bit. The rest was quite a lifter. Nice studio too.
