yes the orion in ssb is very selective transceveiver in ssb , if you look in my channel i have also orion2 , all orion here sold now , i like much cw sound and the k3 for me is a better transceiver in the world at the moment , tks again 73 Tony/ik0ozd

Let me say something first of all you didn't set the filter's right on the 7800.. AGC you have 3 different filter setting and you had your's on (mid) check the filtering out more before you compare,, Mine is setup ten time's better and sounds way better then the Orion radio..

Tony, you really need to learn to throttle your Orion rx RF Gain. I'm an experienced Orion user and that rx sounds horrible. As the AGC releases between spoken words, you can hear the rush of background noise coming up. Why would you want this - it sounds terrible. You just can't turn RF Gain to 100 with preamp on and think you're going to get good rx audio.

Sounds like the Orion cut out some of the side noise from another staion better

when the 6El quad station came back.

Does the K3 do aswell as the Orion?

A prima vista sembra molto meglio l'Orion rispetto al 7800.

Tuttavia lo Yaesu FTDX- 9000/D si sarebbe comportato meglio in presenza di segnali adiacenti ( ultima fase del filmato al punto frame 1.31).
