Representative composition of Benaras gharana 'Dhig Dhina Tirkit Dhina' by Supreet Deshpande, master soloist of his generation. Accompanying him on harmonium is Shri Ajay Joglekar. Having been groomed in Delhi school of Tabla, it was a surprise that Supreet chose to play this representative composition of Benaras gharana.
This concert was in a Tabla solo series which also featured other young tabla artists of his generation Ramdas Palsule, Yogesh Samsi and Aneesh Pradhan. The knowledgeable audience of Pune can be rcognized by their counting of Tala during performance and subtle appreciation.
The audience had several artists including Pt. Suresh Talwalkar, Ustad Shahid Parvez, Ustad Shafaat Ahmad, Smt. Rohini Bhate, Vijay Ghate, Smt. Shama Bhate, Vinayak Phatak, Usman Khan, Faiyyaz Hussain to name a few etc.
wah! what imagination!!

Very creative and superb flow. He has maintained the 'nana' till the very end which requires great technic. Great performance. Hats off.
